Stories of War, Healing to be Shared at 2019 Vietnam Symposium

More than a dozen Vietnam War veterans from a variety of military branches and roles will participate in a candid discussion about their experiences and their re-entry to civilian life at an upcoming campus symposium.

Vietnam Symposium PosterThe vets will share stories of war, hope and more during Healing and Homecoming: The Vietnam Symposium on Thursday, March 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom of the Power Center.

The second annual Vietnam Symposium is made possible by the University and board members of the Robert M. Rodrigues Fund, which was established to honor Duquesne alumnus and longtime Chartiers Valley High School history teacher Robert Rodrigues. Each year, the fund awards a $1,000 scholarship to a Chartiers Valley senior. Donations made at the event will support the scholarship fund.

The symposium is co-sponsored by the Department of History, and the Office for Military and Veteran Students.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be served. For more information and to register, visit www.duq.edu/vietnam-symposium.
