Ujamaa Collective Director to Speak at Duquesne March 25

LaKeisha Wolf, executive director and founding member of the non-profit group Ujamaa Collective, will speak at Duquesne next week as part of the University’s United Pittsburgh speaker series.

Wolf will present What is my Worth? at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, in room 104 of College Hall.

Ujamaa Collective was founded with a social mission to create spaces, opportunities, networks, education and support for Africana women to grow as entrepreneurs and artisans. In her role as executive director, Wolf focuses on the business affairs and cooperative development of emerging Africana women-owned craft industries. She has more than 15 years of experience in community, organizational and leadership development, consulting with numerous organizations including Sankofa Community Empowerment, Inc., Community Human Services Corporation, The Legacy Arts Project, Inc., and the Alliance for Police Accountability.

United Pittsburgh is a new initiative developed by Duquesne’s Center for Catholic Faith and Culture that combines academic courses with a free public speaker series. It focuses on collaboration with the community by providing new insights into Catholic social teaching and promoting civic awareness among the University’s students, faculty and staff. These community forums are open to the public and free of charge.
