67th Annual Law Alumni Reunion Dinner to Honor Graduates

The School of Law and the Duquesne Law Alumni Association will host more than 300 graduates, faculty and guests at the 67th annual Law Alumni Reunion Dinner on Friday, Oct. 4, in the Power Center’s Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom.

Marie Milie Jones, a 1987 graduate of the law school, will emcee this year’s reunion dinner, which begins at 5 p.m. Milie Jones, a founding partner of the law firm JonesPassodelis, served as the first female chair of the Duquesne University Board of Directors from 2009 to 2017.

The following graduates will be honored during the event:

  • The Honorable Kim Berkeley Clark, Distinguished Alumna Award
  • Peter D. Giglione, Outstanding Achievement Award
  • Theodore M. Trbovich, the Dr. John E. Murray, Jr. Meritorious Service Award.

The Honorable Kim Berkeley Clark

Clark, a 1983 law school graduate, is the first African-American to serve as president judge of the 5th Judicial District of Pennsylvania (Allegheny County). She’s currently serving a five-year term in that role. As a judge in the family division, Clark primarily hears juvenile court cases and is chairperson of the Pennsylvania Juvenile Court Judges’ Commission. She has received numerous awards, including the prestigious William H. Rehnquist Award for Judicial Excellence.

Peter D. Giglione
Peter D. Giglione

A 2002 graduate of the law school, Giglione is a member of the firm Massa Butler Giglione, where he specializes in representing victims of nursing home abuse and neglect. In 2013, he became one of the youngest inductees of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, and he now serves on its board of governors. Giglione has been involved with the law school’s Trial Advocacy Program since 2007 and currently serves as its coordinator. He also is an adjunct professor in the law school and the John G. Rangos School of Health Sciences.

Theodore M. Trbovich
Theodore M. Trbovich

Trbovich, a 1972 law school graduate, is general counsel and director of the GCU, a Fraternal Life Insurance Company. He also serves as solicitor to the Allegheny County Accountability Conduct and Ethics Commission and is a Director of the Kane Foundation. Trbovich is a member of the Duquesne Law Alumni Association, for which he served as secretary and a member of the board of governors for eight years. He also is a 1911 Society Fellow, Centennial Fellow and Duquesne Society member.
