Registration Now Open for New Spring Employee Trainings

The Training Pathways to Professional Success program returns with new courses to help all University employees enhance their professional growth. All March trainings are free to attend.

“We try to think outside of the box to provide a wide array of training topics to help our employees with all aspects of their jobs,” said Dana Whatley Smith, manager of learning and development in the Office of Human Resources. “This spring, we are once again excited to offer new trainings that do just that.”

The new Managing an Exceptional Multigenerational Team (blue only) will help supervisors and managers work better within their teams by learning how to effectively communicate with everyone from baby boomers to millennials. The training will take place Tuesday, March 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in room 608 of Libermann Hall.

Other March trainings include:

  • Wednesday, March 4, 9 to 10:30 a.m., Employment & Payroll Processing (blue only)
  • Thursday, March 5, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Pathway to Managing & Motivating Student Workers (red only)
  • Wednesday, March 11, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Work Time Management, Automated Attendance & Recordkeeping & Understanding FSLA (blue only)
  • Thursday, March 12, 9:30 to 11 a.m., FMLA, Management of Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Workers Compensation & Staff Absenteeism (blue only).

All trainings will take place in room 608 of Libermann Hall. Go to duq.edu/pathways to register.

The Blue Pathway (blue only) training is for supervisors and managers, and Red Pathway (red only) training is for administrative support staff and non-managers.

Microsoft trainings will start again in April for all employees. A fee of $35 does apply.
