Greek Life Events to Help Emergency Student Assistance Fund, Local Food Bank

Join the Office of Greek Life and the Division of Mission and Identity for two upcoming events to support Duquesne’s Emergency Student Assistance Fund and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Greater Pittsburgh: Community Food BankWatch a cooking class taught by the Rev. John Sawicki, C.S.Sp., this Friday, April 24, at 6 p.m. Registrants will get the link to watch Fr. Sawicki cook his famous chili!

Faculty and staff can also do yoga with instructor Michelle Baldino on Wednesday, April 29, at 3 p.m. via Zoom.

“We wanted to find a way to help Duquesne students through the Emergency Student Assistance Fund as well as the local community through the food bank,” said Greek Life Director Rebecca Mickler. “We’re offering a way to feed your body and warm your heart with an evening of cooking with the Spiritans, and a way find balance with your inner spirit through an afternoon of yoga.”

The $10 suggested donation for each event will benefit University students via the assistance fund and help the food bank provide hundreds of meals to Pittsburghers.

Registration is available online at www.duq.edu/greeklife. Contact Mickler at jamrozikr@duq.edu for more information.
