Duquesne’s 14th annual Virtual Human Rights Film Series presents Race, Rights, Responsibilities, a lineup of four films selected to highlight and encourage conversation about critical human rights issues.

Race, Rights and Responsibilities: 14th Annual Virtual Himan RIghts Film Series - February 1-25, 2021

The virtual series begins Monday, Feb. 1, with John Lewis: Get in the Way, a biography of the congressional leader and civil rights hero. The film focuses on his unwavering fight for justice during the past 50 years.

Additional film screenings include:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 9: G is for Gun explores the highly controversial trend of armed faculty and staff in K-12 schools.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 17: Death By Design exposes the international electronics industry and shows how even the tiniest devices have deadly environmental and health costs.
  • Thursday, Feb. 25: A Dangerous Idea: Eugenics, Genetics and the American Dream shows a radical reassessment of the meaning, use and misuse of gene science.

The series is free and open to the public. All virtual screenings begin at 7 p.m. A link to each viewing session will be made available an hour prior to each viewing session.
