Virtual Global Health Speaker Series Continues Thursday

The Center for African Studies invites the Duquesne community to learn together during the next virtual session of the Père Jacques Laval C.S.Sp., Global Public Health Speaker Series.

Join Dr. Tiffany Gary-Webb, associate professor of epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh, Thursday, March 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. for her presentation Social Determinants of Health for African-Americans: Pre-COVID, During COVID, and Beyond.

Gary-Webb will explore the ways in which COVID and structural racism have magnified the existing inequities in Black populations. She also will discuss the work of the Black Equity Coalition.

Attendees are asked to RSVP online by Wednesday, March 17. A Zoom link will be emailed the morning of the event.
