Colloquium Focuses on Diabetes Support for Underserved Areas

Using technology to help support individuals with diabetes in underserved areas will be the focus of the School of Nursing’s FORS (Forum for Research and Scholarship) Research Colloquium Series and Ph.D. Forum.

Scheduled for today, Wednesday, April 21, at 6 p.m. via Zoom, this free event will feature presenter Dr. Michelle Litchman, assistant professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing.

Litchman will speak on increasing access to diabetes care, chronic disease management in online and family environments, and the impact of technology on clinical interventions in diabetes outcomes. Her work has been highlighted in national media outlets and has influenced policy and practices.

The colloquium, presented by the School of Nursing’s Center for Research for Vulnerable and Underserved Populations, serves as an example of Duquesne’s commitment to expanding student horizons to help create equity and opportunity in the region.
