Faculty Encouraged to Apply for Grefenstette Scholars Program

The Carl G. Grefenstette Center for Ethics in Science, Technology and Law invites scholars from all disciplines to apply for its 2021-2022 Faculty Scholars Program.

Grefenstette CenterFull-time faculty are encouraged to contribute to a broad conversation around the responsible use of digital technology. The inaugural program is designed to support faculty who wish to cultivate a research agenda on that topic, although no technical background is required.

Scholars selected for the program will receive a $3,000 stipend, partial time of one graduate student research support, monthly collaborations with a research cohort and the opportunity to become affiliate scholars who can participate in the center’s future external initiatives.

The Faculty Scholars Program exemplifies the University’s commitment to interdisciplinary research, allowing faculty to learn together as they address important technical and ethical issues.

Applications—which are due by Friday, May 28—must include a curriculum vitae, a brief research and teaching biography, and a one-page statement of interest in the program.

Applications should be emailed to Grefenstette Center Fellow Nathan Colaner. Full details of the program can be found on the Grefenstette Center website.
