More Opportunities to Help the United Way Campaign

After hitting the U.S. in 2020, the coronavirus continues to impact many in its path. Duquesne’s United Way campaign responds not only to the community’s needs resulting from the pandemic, but to a range of struggles. In addition to asking seeking direct donations, the University is sponsoring various campus events and raffles to help Duquesne meet its $90,000 campaign goal.

  • A cranberry-orange flower soy wax candle
  • Four marble and wood coasters
  • Two mini enamel Dutch ovens
  • Two sweater-weather themed mugs.

The winner for the drawing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Because it’s the season of giving, United Way Campaign Co-Chair Kate DeLuca said that those who donate to the United Way via the campaign portal by Nov. 30 will be eligible for the following prize drawings:

  • A $50 Eat n’ Park gift card
  • A $100 VISA gift card
  • A turkey
  • A ham.

“Last year, the University revised its campaign goal to reflect the impact COVID-19 had on employees, making it $88,000,” said DeLuca, associate dean for student affairs in the School of Nursing.  “The Duquesne community surpassed the goal and raised $123,500.”

DeLuca said she is hopeful the Dukes will exceed this year’s goal. To date, more than $70,000 has been donated by members of the University community this year.
