Gumberg Library Virtual Assistance by the Numbers

Since the University’s transition in March to remote learning and implementing changes to on-campus operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gumberg Library has increased its efforts to help students, faculty and staff continue their research activities and instruction without interruption.

Gumberg Library Online Services: During the Campus Closure InforgraphicsTo better assist the campus community, Gumberg’s updated services are designed to connect library users with online offerings, including live help by chat and phone, and increased database access. Since March, Gumberg Library has experienced a major upsurge in video streaming and e-book access.

In addition, as reflected in the accompanying infographic, there have been more than 76,455 views on Gumberg research and subject guides, and more than 263 visits to the Gumberg Coronavirus research guide. During April, there were 17,337 downloads from the Duquesne Scholarship Collection. Additionally, the Gumberg Library team has answered more than 284 questions virtually.

Faculty and staff are reminded that the library remains “virtually” open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to assist with research projects and other needs. Visit “Ask Gumberg” for assistance.
